How Mr. Keating made Todd more open

In the beginning of the book "Dead Poets Society" one of the main characters, Todd Anderson, a new student at Welton Academy who was very quiet, insecure and shy, grew through the plot of the book and became more and more open and comfortable.

With the encouragement of his english teacher Mr. Keating, Todd learned to express his feelings, compose impressive poetry and especially to open up.

On Todd's first day at his new school, he was very unhappy and his eyes were filled with anger but when he met the other boys and had a few English lessons, he warmed up a little bit.
Later, when Todd had another english lesson by Mr. Keating, he helped the other boys finding out what Keating meant with "Dead Poets society" and when the "Dead Poets" had their first secret meeting in the cage, Todd agreed to come with them if he won't had to speak there.

The other boys noticed that Todd was very shy and insecure and so Mr. Keating.
Mr. Keating taught Todd to become open and comfortable with himself. He created a student, who knew how to read not just with his mouth rather with his heart and passion.

When Cameron went to Dr. Nolan to sneak about the secret meetings of the "Dead Poets Society", Todd defend his english teacher's innocence at Neil's death. With this act he showed courage and  self-confidence.
Todd sufficiently grasped Mr. Keating's teaching methods and discovered his verse.

Mr. Keating showed the students to stand up and express themselves when it really mattered and Todd was the first out of the boys wo checked that and when Mr. Keating had to leave the school, Todd was the first who stand on the desk in respect of his english teacher (and all that in front of the head teacher Dr. Nolan)

At the end of the book and through Mr. Keating's teaching philosophy, Todd Anderson became a young man who stood up for what he believed in.
