The four pillars of Welton Academy are Tradition, Honor, Discipline and Excellence.
The four pillars represent the values of the Academy which the students have to follow and they
are the starting point of a ruled life in the Academy.
Every boy at Welton Academy has to follow these four values to avoid problems and clashes.
They 'protect' the school and help the students to be prepared for their future life and to be an excellent and disciplined man. The education of the students at Welton Academy is understood to be a disciplined academic learning program combined with the shaping of the students characters to become explicitly excellent traditional ideals.
I think that these four pillars are a great way to shore the Welton Academy and to make the students with strictness of these values great future men, who know how to interact with other people in their life. They create decent, resectable and disciplined men out of the boys. But they also restrict the boys' personalities.
Compared to our schools 'Leitbild', the guiding principles at Welton Academy are very strict and important for the students and teachers and also very unlike to ours because at the Albert-Einstein-Gymnasium most of the students don't really know the guiding principles. At Welton Academy EVERY student could tell the values of his school while he is asleep .We, at the AEG, care about the environment around our school, the cooperation with parents, teacher and students to make a requirement for a healthy school system and especially to create an individual person who can interact with other people. The students at Welton Academy will not become an individual person because they are all taught the same, the freedom of their own personality is NOT their first priority. It is fenced by the four pillars because they are the most important values at Welton Academy and every boy there has to act after the four pillars. It is a restriction of the individuals the boys could be.

Hey Klara, I really like this blogpost about the 14th chapter. The summary is written in a high-quality English and very insightfully. The only thing to complain about is the length. A summary should, as it says, summarize a long text in much less words. Your summary is a little bit to long and includes too much details, which isn't too bad.
AntwortenLöschenAlso, I really like your blog itself. The way you decorated and designed your blog homepage with pictures is very nice! All of your blog posts are of high quality and nice to read.
All in all, your blog and the posts are very nice!
